Dr. Robert (Tito) Norris received his bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in Biology with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. His unique background in engineering provides him with distinct advantage in mastering the forces, vectors, and movements inherent in performing orthodontic treatment. His background in material science allows him to stay on the cutting edge of the latest technological advances in orthodontic techniques and products.

Dr. Norris was the salutatorian of his dental school class at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He completed a General Practice Residency at the V.A. Hospital in Washington, D.C., followed by a residency in Orthodontics at Howard University, also in Washington, D.C. He graduated from this residency program as the valedictorian with the highest grade point average in the Orthodontic Department's 25-year history.

After completing his orthodontic specialty training, Dr. Norris joined the United States Air Force and served as Chief of Orthodontics at Misawa Air Base, Japan, for three years. He and his wife, Simone, returned to San Antonio in 1998 where the vision of Stone Oak Orthodontics came to be.

Dr. Norris has lectured throughout the United States and Asia.

He has taught as a Clinical Associate Professor at the UT Health Science Center. His scientific papers have been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, as well as Clinical Impressions. He is a member of 10 different professional dental and orthodontic associations and is the WOAI News 4 San Antonio dental expert.

In addition, Dr. Norris is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. As a board certified orthodontist, Dr. Norris enjoys a distinction bestowed upon only 15% of the orthodontists in practice today.

In 2007, Dr. Norris began work to fulfill his commitment to make his office completely "green". He signed up for the volunteer renewable energy option with CPS known as Windtricity. In April 2008, he completed a solar energy project at his orthodontic practice by the installation of 80 solar panels.

To date, Dr. Norris and Simone are enjoying their proudest accomplishment which is their 3 children. Claire, Preston, and Rachel.
